FROM THE GALAX GAZETTE-March 9-10, 2009  edition
The Fries Recreation Center hosts several groups of students from Colleges and Universities around the country each year.
These students come in with community service in mind to help the residents of the area with revitalization projects, simple
chores, and other community relations projects.

These students gain real world experience while earning college credit through their respective Colleges and Universities.

This project is headed by Mrs Eva Vaughan.

These students stay at the Recreation Center during their time here and their meals are provided by the Recreation Center, local
area churches, and individuals.

If you would like to help sponsor these students or if you know of anyone who might need the services of these student groups,

please contact
Eva Vaughan at 276-744-2531
We have students from St. Joseph's College in residence during the week of March 7-14, 2009.
Feel free to stop by to meet and greet these students and welcome them to our town!
There will be a "Leprechaun Dance" on Friday March 13th at the Rec Center Gym
in honor of these students.  Come and join us!
